I deleted 2,000 Instagram followers 😱

Hi Reader!

I removed 2,000 followers from my Instagram account.

On purpose. Voluntarily. Without being hacked. 😅

Why?

This account is old old. Like “different-business-era, different-life-era, different-font-preference” old.

Over the years I unconsciously collected inactive followers, people from completely different niches, accounts that haven’t posted since 2021, and yes… a follow-for-follow phase that I do not recommend unless your goal is to build a digital graveyard 👻

For a while I kept wondering why my reach felt so weird.

“Why are my stories getting 8 views?”

“Why does Instagram act like I’m whispering into a void?”

Then I realized - if half your audience is no longer interested, Instagram gets very confused about who should see your content.

So I did a proper follower clean-up.

What I want is not as many followers as possible. I want the right people. The women who actually care about low effort marketing and building a soulful business that doesn’t require sacrificing their nervous system for engagement.

Honestly, I’d rather have 3,000 people who genuinely want to be here than 5,000 people who followed me during my “let’s follow everyone and hope for the best” era. (Hello 2019)

So if your account feels stuck, don’t just ask: “How do I get more followers?” Ask: “How many of my current followers are actually still here?”

Sometimes the most strategic growth move is a little less “more more more” and a little more Marie Kondo but make it Instagram. 😅

In case I removed you, sorry! It was nothing personal, I just thought your account was inactive because of not posting for years, you are of course welcome to follow me again (link below). 🩷

Hi Reader! I have been speaking to a lot of people recently that have been feeling down because despite them putting a lot of time and effort into their social media posts, they don’t feel like it’s working.
